Derrick and Maya took a Friday off last November to celebrate Maya’s Birthday. They were coming up-island for the weekend anyway to be with Maya’s family so they decided to allow some extra time for a Mappy Birthday Road Trip on the way up and miss the Colwood Crawl.
On the way out of town, Maya got a complimentary cappuccino at Starbucks (), and then picked up an Americano at Blenz ()Â for Derrick.
In the Cowichan Valley, the car practically pulled itself over to Pioneer House Restaurant – they don’t have a Birthday deal but the portions are big enough for sharing, and the kids needed to save room for more road trip stops anyway… like Menchies Frozen Yogurt in Duncan ().
In Nanaimo, they shared a smoothie from Booster Juice (), then Maya used her coupon from Payless Shoes for a great discount () at Woodgrove Centre. In Courtenay’s London Drugs (), they got 5 bucks off a cell phone charger so they could charge up and let Maya’s family know they were almost home.
Maya’s big family got everyone together at Codes County Lanes in Courtenay for a Cosmic Bowling Party followed by a free party room rental ().
